Our Story

Chuck’s began as a high school project by Ben Costanza — an idea to recycle beach trash into a synthetic, BPA-free fabric for boardshorts, raincoats, and windbreakers. The vision was simple: trash that once sat in the surf could now be worn by those who rode it.

The name Chuck’s comes from Ben’s grandfather, Chuck, who lived on South Padre Island, Texas, with his wife, Maren. Every summer, Ben’s family would visit, making memories on the coast and learning from his grandfather about the importance of the ocean. Chuck’s carries his name as a tribute to those roots.

Building the Brand

Years later, the idea resurfaced. After a first launch of simple white tees, Chuck’s sat on the sidelines until Ben and close friend Andrew Maroulis brought it back to life together. With Ben stepping in as CEO, Founder, and Owner, and Andrew as CFO, Chuck’s grew into more than just surf gear — it became a community project.

Now, Chuck’s reflects everything we live for:

  • Surfing and fishing the Texas coast

  • Fly fishing in mountain streams

  • Hiking and hunting in the open country

  • A western soul woven into every piece

More Than a Brand

For us, Chuck’s is more than a clothing company. It’s a way to glorify the Lord — to celebrate His creation, the land and sea He gave us, and the community He calls us into. Every design is inspired by the reminder that the world we explore is not our own, but His handiwork.

We want Chuck’s to be a place where believers and nonbelievers alike can come together, connected by a love for the outdoors and the stories we carry. Whether it’s casting a line, paddling into a wave, or sitting around a fire, Chuck’s exists to point back to the Creator and to walk out our faith through the way we live and build community.

Every design is meant to carry the same spirit that Ben’s grandfather passed down — respect for the land, love for the ocean, and the grit to explore.
